Format & Rules

The Hootie & the Blowfish Summer Chapter Series is a developmental program for junior golfers looking to expand their knowledge of the game, tournament experience, and fun-natured competitive spirit. The Chapter Series is conducted in 14 different regions across South Carolina. Individual chapter schedules normally begin in June and run through early August, with tournaments normally taking place on Mondays and Tuesdays.

The competition is broken out into 7 age divisions: Girls 7-9, Girls 10-12, Girls 13-18, Boys 7-9, Boys 10-12, Boys 13-14, and Boys 15-18. Kids 12 years old and younger will play 9 holes while 13 and older will play 18 holes. Each competition will be individual stroke play style format with a double par maximum for each hole. Members compete for All-Star points as well as SCJGA Heritage Classic Foundation ranking points.

Chapter Series Eligibility

The Hootie & the Blowfish Chapter series is open to boys and girls ages 7-18. Players of all abilities are encouraged to join. Individuals can register for any chapter of their choosing (Aiken, Beaufort, Columbia, Florence, Greenville, Hilton Head, Mid State, Mount Pleasant, Myrtle Beach, Piedmont, Spartanburg, Tri County, Upstate, York).

While players are only permitted to join and acquire points in one chapter, they are welcome to sign up for outside chapter events if there are spots available. The time period outside chapter members can sign up for those events, if space allows, is the last 48 hours before the registration deadline (ex. Suppose a Columbia Chapter member wants to sign up for a Myrtle Beach chapter event and the deadline is at 5:00 P.M. on the Friday before the tournament. In that case, the Columbia Chapter member may sign up anytime between 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday and the deadline on Friday).

All-Stars

All-Stars is a season-ending reward for the top-2 players in each division of the local chapters that typically takes place in mid-August. The Thomas D. Todd North All-Stars consists of the Aiken, Greenville, Piedmont, Spartanburg, Tri County, Upstate and York chapters. The Tommy Cuthbert South All-Stars consists of the Beaufort, Columbia, Florence, Hilton Head, Mid State, Mount Pleasant and Myrtle Beach chapters. Players who enroll in college during or before the All-Stars tournament are ineligible to compete in this event. Only events played in your local chapter will count towards the Chapter Series Point Standings for All-Stars. For further information regarding the Chapter Series Point Standings, click this link

Any chapters with 20 or more players in a specific age division are rewarded with the top-3 players receiving exemptions into All-Stars.
