Charli Heaton of Lexington captured the inaugural Old Barnwell Girls Invitational title in the Girls 13–19 Division after closing with a two-under-par 71 to finish at three-under-par for the championship. Heaton recorded five birdies during her final round to secure the victory.
Ava Romansky of Spartanburg also posted a final-round three-under-par 70 to finish runner-up at four-over-par for the championship.
When asked what winning the inaugural championship meant to her, Heaton said, "It means a lot to me. I'm super excited. It's been a long time coming. The golf course was great, and the staff was super nice. They made the tournament so much fun to play."
The inaugural Old Barnwell Girls Invitational brought together junior golfers from across the region for two days of championship competition at one of South Carolina's premier golf clubs. The event marks the beginning of a new tradition and reinforces the continued growth of girls' junior golf in South Carolina.
