HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (January 27, 2026) - After continued monitoring of the weather forecast and further discussions with Sea Pines Resort staff, the South Carolina Junior Golf Association has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2026 Sea Pines Junior Heritage.
With overnight temperatures projected to fall into the 20s on both Saturday and Sunday, along with the possibility of a wintery mix on Saturday, both host golf courses are unlikely to open this weekend.
The SCJGA places the safety of its junior golfers, families, volunteers, and staff at the forefront of all decisions, and felt it was necessary to make this call as early as possible out of respect for travel plans and participant well-being.
The decision was not made lightly, particularly given the number of families traveling from outside the Hilton Head Island area. However, after careful consideration, tournament officials determined that canceling the event was the most responsible course of action.
All registered participants will receive a full refund of their entry fee, which will be processed promptly.
The SCJGA appreciates the patience, understanding, and flexibility shown by players and families and looks forward to welcoming competitors at a future SCJGA event.
