Hootie series
In 2026, the Hootie & the Blowfish Junior Golf Series and One Day Series will merge into one schedule, expanding play, exposure, and competition for juniors at all levels.
- Schedule: January-December, multiple one day events
- Membership: $200/year, open to all South Carolina Juniors (Top 125 HCF boys not eligible)
- Format: No regional divisions - statewide open entry for qualified players
- Divisions: Boys/Girls 12 & Under, Boys/Girls 13–19
- Registration: Open statewide until events are full
- Rankings: Earn Heritage Classic Foundation (HCF) and Hootie Series points

Elite Qualification: Top players advance to the designated Players Series events
Players Series
The Players Series is for competitive juniors ages 13–19 seeking multi-day tournament experience and statewide competition. This program bridges the gap between developmental and elite junior golf.
- Format: 36-hole events held statewide
- Registration: Open to all SC juniors with SCJGA membership; entries accepted until full
- Membership: $50/year or $200 +benefits /year. Open to all SC juniors. Top 50 HCF boys not eligible.
- Rankings: Earn points in the Heritage Classic Foundation (HCF) Rankings
- Advancement: Top performers earn exemptions into SCJGA Major Championships
Major Championships
The Major Championships are the pinnacle of junior golf in South Carolina, bringing together the state’s top boys and girls ages 13–19 to compete for championship titles and recognition.
- Eligibility: Top performers from the Players Series and HCF Rankings
- Membership: $50/year or $200 + benefits/ year. Open to all SC juniors
- Format: Multi-day (typically 54-hole) championship events
- Venues: Hosted at premier courses across South Carolina
- Competition: Showcases the strongest junior fields and highest standards of play
- Recognition: Awards state titles, ranking points, and collegiate exposure opportunities

About the South Carolina Junior Golf Association
The purpose of the South Carolina Junior Golf Association is to continue the history and traditions of the ancient game of golf through its members and an active outreach to the youth of our state. Established in 1990 by community leaders with a love for the game and a commitment to passing on golf’s heritage to the youth of South Carolina, the SCJGA is committed to meeting the needs of all young people in the state and providing playing opportunities to boys and girls that might not otherwise have the chance to experience golf and its many benefits. Through affordable opportunities of play, instruction and competition, juniors of all ages, walks of life and skill levels will be touched by the character of the game. It helps to teach them honor, sportsmanship and respect and makes them better prepared to face the challenges ahead in life.
