Florence Country Club greeted 137 junior golfers this morning for the first round of the 72nd Grant Bennett Florence Junior Invitational.
In the boys 13-18 division, Chase Cline of Chapin finished the day with a first-round score of three-under par 67 to take the round-one lead. He had five birdies today and holds a one-shot lead heading into round two tomorrow.
Jack Seward of Florence and Thomas Lamar of Columbia each finished the day with a round-one score of two-under par 68 to sit tied for second.
In the boys 12 and under division, Connor Wolfe of Blythewood posted an impressive first-round score of four-under par 31 after nine holes to lead this division.
AK Milner of Spartanburg and Kingston Linder of Spartanburg each posted a round-one score of two-under par 33 to sit tied for second in the boys 12 and under division.
Round two of the 72nd Grant Bennett Florence Junior Invitational begins tomorrow at 8:00 A.M. off #10.
