The following entities make the game more accessible through financial sponsorships of the SCJGA Programs. We can not thank them enough for their time, efforts, and financial support of today's youth and tomorrow's leaders!!

 

 

Hootie and the Blowfish and their one day Pro-Am, Monday After the Masters, have to be credited with primary sponsorship of junior golf in South Carolina. The event has donated over 1.3 million dollars to junior golf programs and youth oriented organizations in the short nine years of history. The initial thrust of support has been the building and operation of Junior Golf Land programs. Four facilities are open serving around 10,000 juniors each year with instruction and course access, all at no cost. The annual event also supports operations of the SCJGA, National Minority Golf Programs, Special Olympics Golf, and a multitude of other youth causes, both on and off the course. The Carolinas Golf Association provides an annual grant to the SCJGA to conduct the Clubs for Kids Program. Five one day events throughout the calender year provide equipment for those new to the game.  The program also provides custom fit clubs for any youth organization that has ties to this great game. The SCJGA will redistibute 1,500 clubs  each year through this valuable program. Please visit them at www.carolinasgolf.org. The Carolinas Golf Association, The South Carolina Golf Association, and the South Carolina Junior Golf Association all come together to serve the game!

Also taking place throughout the entire year is the junior rankings that are sponsored through the Heritage Classic Foundation. These rankings are a vital tool for college placement as well as track improvement for tournament performances. The SCJGA compiles records of over 90 events a year to provide these comprehensive rankings. The Heritage Classic Foundation, primary sponsor of the MCI Heritage, has generated close to 10 millions dollars in charitable giving since 1987. Please them at www.verizoniheritage.com.

Greenwood Development is a wholly owned subsidiary of Greenwood Mills, its primary purpose is owning and developing real estate and golf properties. The company provides full sponsorship of the Jimmy Self High School Invitational. The Caddie Classic is an event that provide junior the opportunity to caddie for professionals and celebrities in the Hootie and the Blowfish Monday after after the Masters Pro Am. Full sponsorship of the one day event is provided by the South Carolina Automobile Dealers Association as a way for families to realize the true benefits of franchised automobile dealers. The Blade Junior Golf Classic is supported by the membership and volunteers of the Thornblade Club in Greer. A one day Junior Am hosted by the club and Jay Haas starts the three day event that is a must play for SC juniors.  Thanks again to all the people that make this event possible.

 

The Bobby Chapman is an invitational event that plays host to National, State, and Regional champions played at the Country Club of Spartanburg. The Tournament is held in honor of the late Robert Chapman who served as president of both the SCGA and CGA and is highly regarded for his gifts to the game. The tournament is sponsored by the Chapman Foundation as a way to perpetuate Mr. Chapman's role in SC amateur golf.

 

The SCJGA Junior Four Ball is hosted by Pebble Creek Club and is presented by Bill Knupp and BB&T Barnes Insurance. The SCJGA Fall Challenge is hosted by the town of Cheraw and presented by the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism. Cheraw State Park is home to the State's best juniors in late October as families from all areas of SC converge on our oldest state park.

 

The SCJGA highest honor goes to our Players Champion. The Players Championship is hosted by Hartsville Country Club and is presented by the Hartsville CC Junior Golf Foundation as a way to recognize the State's best junior players.
