2008 Tradition Four-Ball

Taylors - One partner started the day off by hitting a basic shank off of the tee and then followed up with 5 birdies on his own ball. The slow start was not a deterrent as Chad Seifert and Crawford Reeves coupled for 11 birdies to shoot a tournament low 61 on the day. They finished the event at 10 under par and two strokes ahead of the field to win the overall boy's championship. Rachel Uremovich accomplished a feat like no other. Eligible for five years, she has partnered to win five straight championships! She successfully defended her 2007 title with playing partner Austin Ernst after they finished play at 135, eight shots clear of second.

The Linkside Course of Pebble Creek Country Club was host and gusty conditions made for tough scoring. Cody Proveaux and his partner; Blake Kennedy, shot a second round 67 to vault them one stroke ahead of the field to take the 13-14 championship. A couple of hiccups had Lauren Stephenson and Nicole Chin firing a 42 in their final round. But thanks to their opening 35, they held on to win by one in the youngest girl's action. Trace Crowe and Adam Garrett shot 34 today to win the boys 10-12 bracket in a true comeback victory after they started two strokes back.

The Tradition Four Ball dates back to 1995 and players such as Lucas Glover, Bill Haas, DJ Trahan, and Kyle Thompson have all been part of this must play championship. Tournament Chair, Rick Vieth, said: "The membership really enjoys this championship and it is truly a treat seeing the stars of tomorrow here at Pebble Creek. We look forward to having all of the families here in Greenville and supporting junior golf at the same time. " Bill Knupp and his company BB&T Barnes Insurance is back again as the title sponsor. They have been one of the SCJGA's longest running sponsors, many thanks go out to the entire organization.
