2007 Pro-Junior Championship

With twenty four teams chasing for the 2007 title, the team from Spring Valley C.C. won the SCPGA-SCJGA Pro-Junior with a score of 55. Mike Birdsell teamed with Thomas Bradshaw, Will Murphy, and William Harwood to shoot the 29-26 effort of 17 under par. The defending champions, Southern Oaks, put up a great effort and finished four shots behind. The shot of the day came from the Woodcreek Farms team as Alan King, the eldest junior in the group, fired a hole in one on #8. Teams are comprised of PGA Professionals that are members of the South Carolina Chapter of the PGA and three of their junior members.
The foursomes had three age brackets represented on their talented teams. Juniors age 15-18, 13-14, and 10-12 partnered with their professional in this 18 hole captain's choice format. Tom Mason, President of the SCPGA, said "This is a day we look forward to as we get to spend the entire day with our future in the game. I think the Professionals have as much fun as the juniors. Although geared to be a fun day of golf, make no mistake, these youngsters are competitive!"
