Baker Elmore of Cheraw started his second round with a six
shot lead. Thanks to North Charleston native Timothy Tang, with a front nine
score of 34, that lead was cut in half. However, Elmore did manage to hold
on for the final nine and go home as the 4th Annual Blade champion, with a
score of 66-75-141.
In the girls 14-18 Division Connor Atkinson fired a 34 on her front nine to
pull within one shot of overnight leader Laura Crawford. Standing on their
18th tee both players were tied at six over par for the tournament. Crawford
missed a seven footer for par and Atkinson tapped in for par giving her a
two day total of 148 and the victory.
BJ Humpries of Inman held on for the champion honors in the boys 13-14
division. He shot a second round 72 to give him a two day total of 142.
Dewey Oxner of Simpsonville held on in the boys 10-12 bracket with a
35-34-69 effort to win by three.
