SCJGA Sponsors
Hootie and the Blowfish and their one day Pro-Am, Monday After the Masters, have
to be credited with primary sponsorship of junior golf in South Carolina. The
event has donated over 1.3 million dollars to junior golf programs and youth
oriented organizations in the short nine years of history. The initial thrust of
support has been the building and operation of Junior Golf Land programs. Four
facilities are open serving around 10,000 juniors each year with instruction and
course access, all at no cost. The annual event also supports operations of the
SCJGA, National Minority Golf Programs, Special Olympics Golf, and a multitude
of other youth causes, both on and off the course.
The Carolinas Golf Association provides an annual grant to the SCJGA to conduct
the Clubs for Kids Program. Five one day events throughout the calender year
provide equipment for those new to the game. The program also provides custom
fit clubs for any youth organization that has ties to this great game. The SCJGA
will redistibute 1,500 clubs each year through this valuable program. Please

Carolinas Golf Association, The South Carolina Golf Association, and the South
Carolina Junior Golf Association all come together to serve the game!
Also taking place throughout the entire year is the junior rankings that are
sponsored through the Heritage Classic Foundation. These rankings are a vital
tool for college placement as well as track improvement for tournament
performances. The SCJGA compiles records of over 90 events a year to provide
these comprehensive rankings. The Heritage Classic Foundation, primary sponsor
of the Verizon Heritage, has generated close to 10 millions dollars in
charitable giving since 1987. Please visit them at www.verizonheritage.com.
