July 17-18, 2007 Benefiting The Pediatric Leukemia Pediatric Research Project Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center Children's Hospital and Oncology Research Institute Greer – Round two of The Blade Junior Classic began with Jacob Burger on top after he completed day one at five under par 66, with Mitchell Gray and Crawford Reeves right on his heels with 67 and 68, respectively. After battling back and forth through fourteen holes, Burger sank a 25 foot eagle putt on hole 15 to take a one stroke lead over Reeves, who in turn made a putt of similar distance on the 188-yard, par 3 17th to tie it back up at nine under par. With the scores tied and one hole to play, Burger pushed his drive right and into the hazard of the challenging 488-yard par 4 finishing hole. Reeves missed his par putt, leaving Burger with a chance to tie with a bogey five, but his putt lipped out giving Reeves a one shot victory. He finished with a two-day total of 134, one better than the tournament record. Burger finished one stroke back and Mitchell Gray finished third at 137. Taylor Weaver of Spartanburg fired an opening round of one under par 70 to lead the girls by eight shots and finished with a hard fought 79 to win by six strokes over defending champion Rachel Uremovich. Uremovich tried to close the gap all day, but Weaver's eight stroke lead was just too much to overcome. Anna Martin finished third at 156.
Morgan Webber won the young girls division , the girls' 11-13, with a two total of 75. The Moore resident won by the slimmest of margins after Collins Bradshaw and McKenzie Talbert finished at 76. Keenan Huskey stayed atop the leaderboard after he finished at 77, also one stroke ahead of his nearest competitor in the boys' 10-12 age bracket.
