2002 All Stars Final Results

Zachary Martin came from two shots behind to take the Boys 15-18 Division at the 2002 SCJGA All Stars.  The Pickens native fired a three under par 69, four shots better than his first round 73, giving him a two day total of 142.  His two under par total was two shots better than York County native Justin Napier's even par 144.  Martin's victory at the All Stars gives him two in a row after winning the Junior Azalea in Charleston. The Boys 15-18 division played the par 72 course at 6,858 yards.
 
Orangeburg's Harrison Moore ran away with the Boys 13-14 Division, with an impressive 67-70, at seven under par 137.  His closest competitor was Tri-County's George Bryan at three under par 141.  The Boys 13-14 division played the par 72 course at 6,125 yards.

 

Lancaster's Laura Crawford came from one stroke behind to become the 2002 Girls All Star Champion.  Crawford had a two day total of 150, 76-73.  Three strokes behind was runner up Elizabeth Steele from the Pickens-Oconee Chapter. The Girls 11-13 Division was shortened by rain and thunderstorms, therefore Cayci Ruppe and Rachel Uremovich share first place honors based on Saturday's round.  Boys 10-12 Division was also canceled because of weather, giving Dewey Oxner honors based on first round play.
 
In the Boys Team Competition, the Orangeburg Chapter  claimed the championship with a two day total of 201.  Three shots back were Charleston, Tri-County, and Horry County at 204.  The Girls Team Competition  ended in a tie  with Spartanburg and Pickens-Oconee girls sharing first place team honors.
 
The Chapter Program of the SCJGA consists of 2,200 junior golfers playing weekly in nineteen geographical chapters across the state. The All Stars event is the culmination of summer play as the top juniors from each chapter qualify for this season ending event.
