PeeWee Championship

Burger & Perkins Win PeeWee Championships!
July, 2001: Jacob Burger of Orangeburg fired a 2-under par 33 to combine with a first round 38, giving him an 18 hole total of 71 in the Pee Wee Championship at Greenwood Country Club.  Burger and fellow competitors Tripp McAllister and Matthew Price all finished the tournament at 71, but is was Burger who prevailed the Champion on the third hole of the sudden-death play off.  All three players were even par after the first two holes, then Burger stuck his shot on the 98 yard par 3 third hole within a foot, he proceeded to sink the putt and walk away with the Championship.

In girls action, Molly Perkins of Charleston, shot an 18 hole score of 93 (44, 49) to take the Championship.  Perkins first round 44 helped her sqeek by fellow competitor Elizabeth Freeman who made a run at the title today with a 47.  Freeman posted a two day total of 96 (49,47) helping her to finish in second.

In other action, Austin Cody of N. Charleston fired a two day total 74 to take home the Boys 8-9 Championship, while Brett Snyder posted a solid 79 to finish second.  Austin Ernst of Seneca won the Girls 8-9 Championship with a two day total of 100, giving Austin her first SCJGA victory!
