SCJGA PeeWee Championship

Michael Muscatell fired a one over par 36 to win the boys 10-12 age bracket with total score of 73 at The South Carolina Junior Golf Association’s Pee Wee Championship. The tournament is sponsored by APC and was held at Greenwood Country Club on July 22nd and 23rd. The Lake Wylie native was tied with Jacob Martin of Orangeburg on the final hole and birdied to win the Championship by one.

 

Emily Rapp won the girls 10-12 division with a total score of 85 to win by 9 over Traci Bodner of North Augusta. “I could have played a little better but I am still thrilled to have won” said the Simpsonville native in summing up her championship round.

 

The boys 8-9 age bracket was won by Will Ovenden of Columbia who started the day with a four shot lead and won the division by two over Brett Snyder from Fort Mill. The girls 8-9 years old was won by Rachel Uremovich of Hilton Head. She was able to expand on her commanding lead to shoot 90 for the tournament.

 

The competition was contested over the Lodge nine of Greenwood Country club with the juniors playing nine holes each day for a 18 hole total. The boys and girls 10-12 played a yardage of 2493, and the younger 8-9 year olds played a yardage of 1888 for a par of 35.
